Add to your project

Terminal
npx shadcn@latest add https://luv-jeri.github.io/cojeev-ui/r/appearance.json

The command includes the component’s shared dependencies. Your project keeps editable source files.

Using appearance

  • Mount AppearanceProvider once around your application. AppearanceMenu or AppearanceControls changes the shared appearance.

  • Palettes and contrast persist in local storage. Controlled value/onValueChange is available for your own settings surface.

  • Contrast adjusts semantic text and edges; it does not filter artwork or alter accent fills.

API

Compose the exported parts below. The prop types are read from the React source during the registry build.

Native element or underlying primitive props are inherited where declared, including accessible labels, event handlers and refs.

AppearanceControlsProps

PropTypeRequired
valueAppearanceSettingsNo
onValueChange(value: AppearanceSettings) => voidNo

AppearanceMenuProps

PropTypeRequired
compactbooleanNo
responsivebooleanNo
classNamestringNo

Accessibility

  • Text role pairs retain at least 4.5:1 on primary surfaces at every setting. Control edges retain 3:1.

  • The contrast slider supports keyboard arrows, Home and End. Palette changes apply to portalled controls too.

States and appearance

restinteractivereduced-motion

For conditional content, keep a MotionPresence boundary around keyed MotionSurface children. The shared entrance and exit states work with native primitives and respect your motion preference.

Try pointer and keyboard interaction, and switch the appearance control in the navigation to compare light and dark mode. Motion respects reduced motion preferences.
