Include the complete example
This example also composes typography. Install its parts together:
npx shadcn@latest add https://luv-jeri.github.io/cojeev-ui/r/command.json https://luv-jeri.github.io/cojeev-ui/r/typography.jsonUsing command
Items show stable, varied blob adornments by default. Set adornment={false} to hide, supply {shape, color, icon, effect}, or pass a custom icon element.
Compose CommandInput, CommandList, groups, and items, then run each command from its onSelect handler.
Use CommandDialog for a command palette and add CommandShortcut text to communicate shortcuts you implement.
API
Compose the exported parts below. The prop types are read from the React source during the registry build.
Native element or underlying primitive props are inherited where declared, including accessible labels, event handlers and refs.
CommandProps
Accepts the native or primitive props declared by its exported TypeScript type.
CommandDialogProps
| Prop | Type | Required |
|---|---|---|
title | string | No |
description | string | No |
className | string | No |
CommandInputProps
| Prop | Type | Required |
|---|---|---|
leading | React.ReactNode | No |
trailing | React.ReactNode | No |
CommandListProps
Accepts the native or primitive props declared by its exported TypeScript type.
CommandEmptyProps
Accepts the native or primitive props declared by its exported TypeScript type.
CommandGroupProps
Accepts the native or primitive props declared by its exported TypeScript type.
CommandItemProps
| Prop | Type | Required |
|---|---|---|
variant | "default" | "danger" | No |
CommandSeparatorProps
Accepts the native or primitive props declared by its exported TypeScript type.
CommandShortcutProps
Accepts the native or primitive props declared by its exported TypeScript type.
Accessibility
Give the command input an accessible label and include an empty-results message.
Provide a dialog title and description when using CommandDialog; shortcut text alone does not register a keyboard shortcut.
States and appearance
For conditional content, keep a MotionPresence boundary around keyed MotionSurface children. The shared entrance and exit states work with native primitives and respect your motion preference.
Try pointer and keyboard interaction, and switch the appearance control in the navigation to compare light and dark mode. Motion respects reduced motion preferences.
